Google Cloud today announced a new (and free) feature that will provide its users with custom carbon footprint reports that detail the carbon emissions their cloud usage generates.

WhatsApp is now allowing customers to encrypt their chat history in the cloud, reports TechCrunch. 

WhatsApp is beginning to roll out a new feature that will provide its two billion users the option to encrypt their chat history backup in iCloud or Google Drive, patching a major loophole that has been exploited by governments to obtain and review private communication between individuals.

According to Market Watch, companies switching to multiple cloud computing systems is lessening Microsoft’s hold on the industry.
