As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, the world’s largest cloud companies and chipmakers are giving researchers massive compute power for free — and, in some cases investing millions of dollars — to help them better understand the coronavirus, advance testing efforts, and find a cure.

There are even more legal ramifications from cyberattacks that happened in the cloud, reports Law.com.

Praised for its innovative and security benefits, the cloud can quickly become a burden when a company is hit with a cyberattack and must understand the scope of the data held on public and privately owned servers.

The nation’s two biggest mortgage lender is almost done moving to the cloud, reports NextGov.

The government’s two major housing loan programs, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, have been working their way through large-scale transitions to commercial clouds, though not without a few hiccups, according to a report from the Federal Housing Finance Agency Office of the Inspector General.
