According to ZDNet, Google’s Cloud management team has been reorganized. 

Google Cloud is reorganizing its technical management team as Brad Calder will take over product and engineering for the cloud unit and Urs Hölzle takes over technical infrastructure for Google overall. 

Amazon is looking to simplify data lakes in the cloud, reports SiliconAngle.

As organizations look to expand their data’s quantity and value, they need to simplify how they manage the relevant cloud infrastructure, according to Kevin Miller (pictured), vice president and general manager of S3 at Amazon Web Services Inc.

According to TechCrunch, WhatsApp will let users encrypt their chat backups in the cloud. 

WhatsApp said on Friday it will give its two billion users the option to encrypt their chat backups to the cloud, taking a significant step to put a lid on one of the tricky ways private communication between individuals on the app can be compromised.
