IBM is continuing to crush the cloud wars, reports Forbes. 

IBM's latest earning report showcased that the company continues to win cloud business as COVID-19 accelerated many companies' moves to the cloud. 

According to Geek Wire, Oracle is finally ready to fully enter the cloud computing fray. 

Oracle wasn’t the first big tech company to offer public cloud computing infrastructure, or the second, or the third. When Oracle Cloud Infrastructure launched in 2016, aiming to compete against the likes of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, it practically redefined the concept of minimally viable product, or MVP — with just one cloud region and a handful of cloud services.

Astronomy generates a huge amount of data, so researchers are embracing storing it in the cloud,reports Nature. 

Astronomers typically work by asking observatories for time on a telescope and downloading the resulting data. But as the amount of data that telescopes produce grows, well, astronomically, old methods can’t keep pace.
